After a very successful first edition, the “Sorrento Film & Food Festival” will be back from January 1 to 6, with the promotion of “The Artists’ Club Italia,” the patronage of the Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly, the Campania Region and the City of Sorrento, with the support of the Film and Audiovisual Department of the Ministry of Culture. US actor Daniel McVicar will once again chair the event alongside the Italian-American actor Luca Riemma, who will be in charge of the Artistic Direction.
“Our goal is to experience once again the happy combination of film and food at one of the most beautiful locations in the world,” explained McVicar, as he presented the initiative unfolding between the Armida Film Theater and the most renowned restaurants of Sorrento, and attended by some of the biggest Italian and international artists, together with some real cuisine master chefs.
The free-of-charge festival screenings will let visitors and tourists enjoy a number of feature films, documentaries, and short movies revolving around the relationship between cinema and food, as well as international productions selected through the digital platform Filmfreeway.com as the event will especially culminate on January 1 and 5 - New Year’s Day and the Closing Night of the festival.
On both dates, ceremonies will take place to assign the “Sorrento FFF 2023 Awards,” which last year were presented to British filmmaker Terry Gilliam, Israeli singer Noa, Italian screenwriter and director Enrico Vanzina, directors Remo Girone and Victoria Zinny and Giovanni Esposito and Susy De Santis as well as “chef-stars” don Alfonso Iaccarino, Peppino Aprea, Gennarino Esposito, and Pasquale Palamaro.

Sulla scia del successo della Prima edizione, dal 1 al 6 gennaio torna il “Sorrento Film & Food Festival”. L’evento, promosso dall’associazione “The Artists’ Club Italia”, con il patrocinio dell’Assemblea Parlamentare del Mediterraneo, della Regione Campania e del Comune di Sorrento ed il sostegno della Dg Cinema. E sarà ancora una volta l’attore americano Daniel McVicar a presiedere l’iniziativa con la direzione artistica affidata all’attore italo-americano Luca Riemma.
“L’obiettivo è di rilanciare il felice binomio cinema ed enogastronomia, da una delle perle del turismo mondiale” sostiene McVicar, che rinnova l’appuntamento con grandi artisti italiani ed internazionali, unitamente a veri e propri “Maestri della tavola” tra il cinema Armida di Sorrento e i più bei locali della Penisola sorrentina con una pagina significativa di proiezioni anche sulla piattaforma eventive.org
Proiezioni di film, documentari e cortometraggi, che coniugano arte cinematografica ed enogastronomia, unitamente a lavori realizzati da film-makers internazionali, selezionati attraverso la piattaforma digitale Filmfreeway.com, costituisco parte del programma che prevede l’ingresso gratuito per i tanti turisti attesi nella Penisola sorrentina per le vacanze di Natale. E come per la precedente edizione, saranno due i momenti clou dell’happening: il primo nella serata di Capodanno e successivamente il 5 gennaio.
In entrambi gli appuntamenti verranno assegnati i “SorrentoFFF 2023 Awards” che lo scorso anno sono andati al regista inglese Terry Gilliam, all’cantante israeliana Noa, allo sceneggiatore e regista Enrico Vanzina, agli attori Remo Girone e Victoria Zinny e Giovanni Esposito e Susy De SAntis nonché agli “chef-stars” don Alfonso Iaccarino, Peppino Aprea, Gennarino Esposito e Pasquale Palamaro.
